Robert Schmidt has been Professor for Neural Data Science at the Faculty of Computer Science and the Institut für Neuroinformatik since September 2022. His research is dedicated to the neural mechanisms of cognitive functions. In his research, he draws on analysis and computational modeling techniques, such as machine learning
