Hey all!

We would like to announce an upcoming master-level course for CS
students who are excited about the design and implementation of systems:
    Energy-Aware Computing Systems (EASY)
    * 6 ECTS
    * CS / AI Master
    * lecture and exercises, with research focus and hands-on experience

We will discuss energy-aware computing systems and learn how
power/energy management and energy demand analysis are implemented in
current systems.
You will analyse how energy constraints and energy-aware concepts are
incorporated from the embedded domain (e.g., IoT) up to cluster systems
(e.g., cloud). We will take a look at the grid infrastructure and how it
transforms, especially considering the rising share of renewable energy
sources. We will also focus on the latest research about the carbon
efficiency of computing systems.

EASY is structured as a weekly lecture with regular exercises.
As part of the lecture, you learn fundamental theoretical knowledge,
which is deepened by reading and discussing research papers and the
practical work during the exercises.
You will evaluate the energy efficiency of computing systems by
conducting energy measurements, implementing optimisations, and creating
energy models.

Please take a look at our website [0] and consider the participation
requirements if you are interested in joining EASY next semester!
You can register via e-mail to cs-os-easy-orga at lists.rub.de

For more information about the work of our group and further courses,
please see [1].

We look forward to seeing you!

Kind regards,
   Heni
