[AI-announce] Competitive Programming at RUB - Kick-Off Event on June 12

[Competitive Programming @ RUB]

Dear fellow Students,

RUB will host a local contest site for this year’s edition of the 
*German Collegiate Programming Contest (GCPC) [1] on June 22*. This will 
be the first event of a series of competitive programming activities at 
RUB. The GCPC is a contest in which teams of three students from 
universities all over Germany are served a series of algorithmic 
programming problems.

*What is Competitive Programming?*

Competitive Programming is the art of solving algorithmic problems and 
implementing solutions in a time-constrained environment. Such problems 
usually need insight into algorithms and efficient implementation to be 
solved successfully. Participating in competitive programming enhances 
your programming skills and prepares you for coding interviews at 
software companies like Google and Amazon.

*Contests and Workshops*
We plan to enable students to participate in competitive programming 
contests in Bochum and abroad. To get started, we will host a local 
contest site for the GCPC on June 22 (there will be free pizza during 
the contest). After the first contest, we aim to host a competitive 
programming workshop in Bochum.

*Kick-off Event on June 12*
