Dear all,

There is just over one week left to apply for a place on the Glacial Isostatic
Adjustment (GIA) training school that will be held in Gävle, Sweden, between
26-30th August 2019.

Apply here:
http://polenet.org/2019-glacial-isostatic-adjustment-gia-training-school

Closing date: 31st March 2019

The program will include lectures and practical exercises aimed at
investigating the interactions between solid Earth deformation, ice mass
change, and associated sea-level and geoid variations. Participants will
receive instruction in using freely available modelling software and have the
opportunity to learn from some of the leading researchers in the GIA
community. Usage of Abaqus in GIA modelling will also be part of the program. A
field trip to examine records of land uplift and sea level change will be
included.

There is no registration fee. We have secured sufficient funds to be able to
offer at least partial travel and subsistence support for all attendees.
Individuals seeking financial support should submit both an Enrollment
Application and a Financial Support Application.

Financial support for the training school has been provided by the National
Science Foundation (NSF) through the Antarctica Network (ANET) component of the
Polar Earth Observing Network (POLENET) project, the Scientific Community on
Antarctic Research (SCAR) through the Solid Earth Responses and influences on
Cryospheric Evolution (SERCE) program, the International Association of
Cryospheric Sciences (IACS), the European Geosciences Union (EGU), and DTU
Space.

Any questions, please send an email to: polenet.school at gmail.com
We look forward to receiving your applications!
