      this is the third World Stress Map Newsletter with information on

      the project and on crustal stress research in general. Besides the

      newsletter you will also find a pdf of the new key publication for

      the WSM database release 2016 that has been published a couple of

      weeks ago as an invited review paper of the journal

      Tectonophysics. <br>

      <br>

      The WSM newsletter has currently almost 3000 subscribers from

      industry and academia. If you have any information, comment or

      announcement that you would like to share with the community,

      please contact me. The editorial deadline for the next WSM

      newsletter to be send in early 2019 is end of this year. Note that

      the DOI's in the text are linked and lead you with a mouse click

      directly to the website of the publication. <br>
