Abstract

In this seminar, we will propose genus-2 HEC coprocessor architectures
using affine and projective coordinates and present their hardware
implementations on an FPGA. We investigated different possibilities of the
HEC coprocessor with three different implementations ranging from high
speed to moderate area. Our high performance HECC coprocessor is faster
than the best known previous implementation and utilizes lesser area than
the smallest design published so far. We also estimated the power
consumption of the HEC coprocessor to confirm their applicability on
resource constraint environments such as PDA, smart cards, etc. Different
implementation techniques such as parallelism, pipelining and loop
unfolding, which were used for the HEC coprocessors, will also be discussed
in this seminar.
