Title:  (Strong) Physical Unclonable Functions --  A Brief Introduction
and Overview

Abstract:  Physical Unclonable Functions (PUFs) are a relatively young
cryptographic and security primitive.  Our talk provides a short
introduction for an audience getting in touch with this topic for the
first time.  We survey the hardware implementations and applications of
PUFs, and discuss some recent attacks, including modeling and protocol
attacks.  Finally, we take a glimpse at the currently most pressing
research questions in the area.  Our treatment explicitly distinguishes
between two fundamentally different PUF types, namely Weak PUFs and
Strong PUFs, putting its focus on the latter PUF variant.
