ETAS möchte mit der Einbindung des Systemhauses seine Position im schnell wachsenden Markt für Sicherheitslösungen ausbauen, während für das ESCRYPT-Geschäft die nächste Stufe der Expansion ermöglicht wird. Am 26.04.2012 unterschrieben die beiden Partner den Vertrag in Düsseldorf und leiteten damit die bereits zweite Übernahme einer HGI-Ausgründung durch ein weltweit agierendes Unternehmen innerhalb eines Jahres ein. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>ESCRYPT wurde 2003 als Spin-Off des Horst Görtz Instituts für IT-Sicherheit der Ruhr-Universität Bochum gegründet und ist bei Sicherheitslösungen für eingebettete Systeme das führende Systemhaus. Die GmbH mit dem Stammhaus in Bochum besitzt zwei weitere deutsche Niederlassungen (München und Wolfsburg) und eine Niederlassung in den USA (Ann Arbor, Michigan). „Durch die Kombination mit ETAS ermöglichen wir ESCRYPT die nächste Stufe der Expansion, insbesondere auf internationaler Ebene“, beschreibt Prof. Christof Paar, Mitglied des HGI und neben Herrn Willi Mannheims einer der zwei Hauptgesellschafter der ESCRYPT, die Zukunftsvision. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Die ETAS Entwicklungs- und Applikationswerkzeuge für elektronische Systeme GmbH wurde 1994 als 100%ige Tochtergesellschaft der Robert Bosch GmbH gegründet. Weltweit beschäftigt ETAS heute rund 650 Mitarbeiter und ist in Deutschland, den USA, Japan, Korea, China, Indien, Frankreich, Großbritannien, Schweden, Italien, Brasilien und der Russischen Föderation vertreten. „Mit der Übernahme bauen wir unsere Position im stark wachsenden Markt für Sicherheitsdienstleistungen aus“, sagt Friedhelm Pickhard, Vorsitzender der ETAS-Geschäftsführung. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>ETAS ist bereits das zweite weltweit agierende Unternehmen, das ein HGI-Spin-Off übernimmt. Bereits im März 2011 übernahm Google die Firma Zynamics.
