Das Europäische Kompetenzzentrum für IT-Sicherheit eurobits e.V. mit Beteiligung der RUB erhielt am 27.8. die Auszeichnung „Ausgewählter Ort 2012“. Die Auszeichnung gehört zum Wettbewerb „365 Orte im Land der Ideen“ und prämiert Projekte, die einen Beitrag zur Zukunftsfähigkeit der Bundesrepublik Deutschland leisten. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><b>Nachhaltiges Konzept <o:p></o:p></b></p><p class=MsoNormal>„Die eurobits-Idee ist einfach und nachhaltig zugleich: Zusammenbringen der besten Köpfe, von Forschern, Entwicklern und Ingenieuren, um ein attraktives Umfeld für Kreativität und Innovation zu schaffen“, sagt Ammar Alkassar, Direktor des eurobits. Deshalb überzeugte das Konzept auch das Wettbewerbskomitee. Die „Ausgewählten Orte“ stehen für Ideenreichtum, Leidenschaft sowie Umsetzungsstärke der Menschen im Land und machen die Innovationskraft Deutschlands erlebbar. Die Auszeichnung nahm eurobits-Direktor Alkassar von Sven Olderdissen, dem Vertreter der Deutschen Bank, entgegen.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><b>Einzigartiger Zusammenschluss <o:p></o:p></b></p><p class=MsoNormal>Das Kompetenzzentrum ist ein einzigartiger Zusammenschluss zwischen dem Horst Görtz Institut für IT-Sicherheit (HGI) der Ruhr-Universität Bochum, dem Institut für Sicherheit im E-Business (ISEB), der International School for IT-Security, der Sirrix AG security technologies und der escrypt embedded security GmbH. Hier arbeiten Wissenschaftler aus der universitären Forschung und Ingenieure aus Technologiefirmen eng und örtlich verbunden zusammen. Gemeinsam betreiben sie internationale Spitzenforschung, erarbeiten innovative Konzepte, setzen diese in moderne Software und Hardware um und stellen nachhaltige Lösungen bereit. Außerdem bietet das Kompetenzzentrum Schulungen und eine universitäre Ausbildung in der IT-Sicherheit an.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><b>Standortinitiative<o:p></o:p></b></p><p class=MsoNormal>„Deutschland – Land der Ideen“ ist die gemeinsame Standortinitiative von Bundesregierung und Deutscher Wirtschaft, vertreten durch den Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie (BDI).
