<a href="https://informatik.rub.de/digisoul/personen/marky/">Professorin Karola Marky</a> mit ihrer Forschungsgruppe Digitale Souveränität an der Fakultät für Informatik und als Principal Investigator im Exzellenzcluster CASA „Cyber Security in the Age of Large-Scale
Adversaries“.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:RubFlama;color:#003560"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:RubFlama;color:#003560">„Informationen, die wir preisgeben, können dafür sorgen, dass Einfluss auf unser Verhalten genommen werden kann“, erklärt die Forscherin. Im digitalen Raum würde das beispielsweise
beim Targeted Advertising eine Rolle spielen, also wenn man beim Online-Shopping Vorschläge auf der Basis des Suchverlaufs angezeigt bekommen würde. „Das ist zwar ganz praktisch, kann aber dazu führen, dass ich etwas kaufe, was ich sonst nie gekauft hätte.
Im Extremfall kann man durch diese Beeinflussung seine Freiheit verlieren. Wir Menschen sind alle aus psychologischer Sicht leider sehr anfällig für so etwas,“ so Marky.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:RubFlama;color:#003560">Mit ihrer Forschung konzentriert sie sich deshalb auf das Nutzungsverhalten von Menschen auf einer psychologischen Basis, um daraus Mechanismen zu entwickeln, die sie vor
der Beeinflussung schützen sollen. Dazu will sie innovative Methoden wie den Einsatz von Virtual Reality nutzen, um realistischere Szenarien der Nutzung von IT-Sicherheit zu untersuchen. Mit einem kreativen Ansatz möchte sie IT-Sicherheit personalisierter
und zugänglicher machen. So bringt sie zum Beispiel einen 3D-Drucker zum Einsatz, mit dem sie Figuren zur 2-Faktor-Authentifizierung entwirft. „Ich habe beispielsweise eine Katze gedruckt, die ich auf eine bestimmte Art anfassen muss, wenn ich mich einlogge,
das könnte aber fast jede Form annehmen“, erzählt sie. „IT-Sicherheit ist manchmal etwas trocken. Mit solchen Dingen könnte sie cooler werden.“<o:p></o:p></span></p>

self-determination of individuals, organizations and states. Digital environments and their design play a central role here, since numerous well-researched mechanisms can be used to influence the behavior of users in both directions. The lecture gives an introduction
to digital sovereignty and everyday mechanisms that influence the decisions of users and make it difficult for them to act according to their own wishes.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
