[Geoqus] Winkler buoyancy forces

Dear Abaqus users,
  Can anyone provide insight into using ABAQUS to model Winkler
restoring forces, or any technique to prescribe isostatic boundary
conditions to the base of a gravitationally loaded body?  I could make
the plate very long in the depth dimension and then restrict vertical
displacement on its lower boundary, but I am interested in modeling a
finite-thickness plate where bending stresses may be important.
