GeoMechanics International is looking for 
Finite-Element Method Specialists - Technology Development Group

GeoMechanics International (GMI) has an immediate opening for a
Finite-Element Method Specialist in our technology development team in the
Houston office.

A successful candidate will have a MSc or PhD degree in Geology, Geophysics
or Petroleum Engineering and extensive experience with finite-element
simulations specifically with the ABAQUS system. Good knowledge of material
constitutive laws, material testing and basic skills in object-oriented
programming are an advantage. Excellent written and verbal communication 
skills are necessities.

The primary responsibility for a successful candidate is to work with our
technology development team on the development of new services and software
tools based on finite-element technology. This covers a range of topics from
modeling salt creep, to modeling the interaction between completion and
formation as well as describing the stresses around complicated geological
structures such as faults or salt domes. The candidate will also support
internal and external customers in the use of these tools.

Other related activities include:
* Supporting GMI project managers and other team members on GMI's finite-  
  element based services 
* Writing technical specification documents for software developments
* Interacting with the software development group of GMI for incorporation 
  of the finite element technology in GMI's software products 
* Help with preparation and production of technical training materials
