[Geoqus] Importing surfaces

Hello,

I used Rhino3D with great success for this purpose. You can try Rhino3D for free at

www.rhino3d.com

(in Rhino3D)
Import xyz data
Triangulate
Compute equivalent analytical surface (you choose the complexity)
Convert to solid
Export in .sat
Import into Abaqus CAE

I used this method to construct the volcano model in the attached file. Note the irregular topographic surface that was constructed with Rhino3D.

Hi All

I sent an email couple of weeks ago asking about how can I import an ASCII surface with XYZ values into Abaqus
I tried Autocad but didn`t work

Any idea?
