You can also read the DS Knowledgebase Q&A titled "How to create a geometric part from a deformed orphan mesh part".

Abstract : How to create a geometric part from a deformed orphan mesh part

Where the Q&A talks about importing an XML file, you can also import xyz data into CATIA.

We have used this successfully in a number of cases.

Hi Hani,

you should try to use the tool "point to nurb" (http://www.resurf3d.com/Pointcloud2Nurbs.htm). It produces from abritraty distributed 3D points an IGES surface that can be imported into Abaqus CAE.

Cheers
Oliver
