  			1st CALL FOR PAPERS

*************************************************************************

                  Workshop on RFID Security 2009

              http://www.cosic.esat.kuleuven.be/rfidsec09/

                  June 30 - July 2, 2009, Leuven, Belgium

**************************************************************************

The Workshop on RFID Security 2009 is the fifth edition of a series of
workshops
held in Graz, Malaga and Budapest. This year it will take place in
Leuven, Belgium.
The event will be co-located with the final public event of the BRIDGE
project and
with the ECRYPT “Workshop on lightweight crypto”.

The RFIDSec workshop focuses on approaches to solve security and
data-protection issues in
advanced contactless technologies like RFID. It stresses implementation
aspects
imposed by resource constraints. Security issues are a challenge for
RFID to become
an enabling technology for the Internet of things. The Workshop on RFID
Security 2009
will help to bridge the gap between researchers and developers.
Submissions both from academia and industry are appreciated.

The security team of BRIDGE (http:// www.bridge-project.eu) will present
their results
in an open event on July 3rd. The event will consist of several talks,
open discussions
and demo sessions.

Topics of the conference include but are not limited to:

* New applications for secure RFID systems
* Data protection and privacy-enhancing techniques for RFID
* Cryptographic protocols for RFID
- Authentication protocols
- Key update mechanisms
- Scalability issues
* Integration of secure RFID systems
- Middleware and security
- (Public-key) Infrastructures
- Case studies
* Resource-efficient implementations of cryptography
- Small-footprint hardware
- Low-power architectures
* Attacks on RFID systems
* RFID security hardware e.g. RFID with PUF, RFID Trojans, etc.

Workshop Proceedings:

Participants of the workshop will receive a printed handout. With
permission of the author,
papers will be published on the website.
